surviving cancer, no chemotherapy

check out nancy’s niche, my sister’s new blog.   nancy is the nurse of the family and she’s been an advocate of a natural nontoxic therapy for cancer ever since our mom survived stage IV breast cancer back in the 70s.   of course medical skeptics say it was a fluke.   the religious think it was a miracle, nadaan sa dasal.   like nancy i believe it was (1) the change in diet, (2) the meds that included laetrile (vitamin b17), and also (3) the stress relief — my older sibs started helping deal with the family’s agrarian concerns, and mama went back to playing the piano.

  1. UP nn grad

My high school friend and his sister (Oakland, California area) chose diet and prayers over doctor-prescribed protocol for cancer treatment. They made their choice. Both died within 18 months after the cancer diagnosis.

  2. sad. but it takes more than diet and prayers. in my mom’s case, the laetrile with pancreatic enzymes etc. protocol was prescribed by doctors who specialized in non-toxic cancer therapy, and they have had their successes.

  3. angela,
read the article. very informative. I believe it was stress that gave me the health issues. there was never a time in my life that I was not stressed.

I survived metastatic cancer in 2007. (now I know what’s the difference between hepatocellular cancer and metastatic cancer of liver). I attributed it to prayers since there was no treatment given to me. The doctor did not say anything about my chances.

But my Gastroenterologist ” invaded” my colon. Araay.

From then on, I was subjected to cat scan guided liver biopsy every year until this year na may nakita na naman sila.

No recommendation for chemo and radiation.

I will not be sorely missed sa blogosphere except si benigno. mwahahaha

Totoo ang feeling ng mother mo na there is a time when you think you have to go kasi wala ng patutunguhan. It is an unexpressed wish to die para matapos na, kahit naman di depressed ang tao.

b4 anything else, di totoong d ka mamimiss sa blogosphere, lokah! syempre i have no sense of your age, but the way you write/blog e young at heart forever ang dating sa akin. love your sense of humor ;)

anyway interesante din susunod niyang entries (ako taga-edit niya hehe). tungkol sa pancreatic enzymes, at kamoteng-kahoy na rich in vitamin b17.

Kaya maraming salamat for sharing!

Heto naman ang isinulat ni Carol Araullo about her sister:

Nangiti lang ako sa phrase na “agrarian concerns.” Sa tono mo, hindi naman tipong naisangla ang kalabaw dahil wala nang pambayad sa utang. Hehe. Parang ibang klase. Hehe.

  6. teo ;) siyempre napansin mo yon, lol. panahon kasi ni marcos at pd 27 ba yon, yung land reform of rice and corn? sapol na sapol. major major stress kumbaga.

oo nabalitaan ko yung sa kapatid ni carol. thanks for the link. sana mapaabot mo rin yung link ng kapatid ko. pamamadali ko yung susunod niyang entries with more info. baka makatulong. altho usually sarado ang orthodox medicine sa mga ganitong natural ek ek ;))

  7. Hehe.

Binasa ko iyung link. Very informative. Tsk, tsk.

  8. Hi, Tita!

I actually read this when you (or was it ina) first posted about this. I recognize the treatments. Just wanted to say two things, one being that you really have to be careful din, speak with more than one doctor. Look for all alternatives, take a more active stance basically. As much as these treatments, and these holistic approaches seem like such refreshing choices—there really are people out there who give healers a bad name.

I love how it comes from the belief that the body can heal itself.

  9. hey ning ;) you’re right. it helped of course that both my parents were doctors. my own brother, you’ve met him, the internist, swears by chemo and thinks it was a fluke, our mom surviving without it. and then again, his reaction to our sister’s blog was rather unexpected: “good alternative article” daw, and asked to be updated on what kind of response it gets. a fusion kind of therapy, alternative + orthodox would be good, maybe.

it’s all about choice (akin to your emergency contraception preference)…and your mom made hers (with success!) a long time ago. thanks for bringing up the topic. interesting…

how i wish your mom’s bout with cancer and the treatment would be formally made into a case report.
