charice break

i was one of those who, upon hearing that charice was going to audition for glee, nervously asked: but can she act?   hindi kaya tayo mapahiya?   well, she passed the auditions, what a relief that was, and now that i’ve seen her debut in glee 2, what can i say but wow! has she levelled UP!   good job, charice!   and good job, america! i’ve always said that the u.s. is tops in the entertainment performance arts, and i’m just so happy for charice.    oh, and also for katrina, whose essay The Charice Challenge, special feature on gmanews.tv, is breaking readership & “recommend” records.   great timing, howie ;))

@Ina :-) that was a great article on Charice challenge. Atleast, we know who really is this up-coming Filipina, an international star who can level up with the entertainment giants like Celine Dione, and otthers. I am both happy and sad about her achievements. Happy that we can be proud to have another talented OFW Pinoy being recognized by the Western entertainment industry and like Manny Pacquiao and Lea Salonga will earn million of dollars for her family and partly for the country. The ultimate economic benefits will be the US controlled worldwide TV and mass media advertising industry. On the other hand, I am sad that such honored talent does not elevate and conribute to social and cultural development of the Filipino entertainment industry that will spurned growth and self-respect. In this entertainment industry, we have the distinct ability to be Great Copy cats of Western talents just like producing movies aping the titles “Taytay Nic”, Home Along the Riles” etc. Thats why, I still have great respect for Sharon, Nora Aunor,Regine and their batch groups because they sang for the Filipino hearts and spirits. Nothing beats these Mega and Superstars.
