what’s not clear is, where do they get the gumption to lie like this? what makes them so fearless, even so certain, that they speak a truth?

These religious freaks are completely wrong — where do they come from? Use of contraception is abortion? They are almost criminals! Bollocks!
Why can’t Filipino women just ignore those bishops?
I mean, it’s not as if these bishops will send them to jail or to hell if they use contraception(at least not straight away; according to Catholic dogma, there’s confession that they can bank on in case women using contraceptions change their mind or maybe when they start menopausing they can confess by then, there’s no worrying about getting pregnant anymore! Heheh).
But seriously, isn’t there anybody in this govt that’s not superstitious? If those religious freaks are giving a false message about contraception and abortion, isn’t the sensible thing to do is to re-calibrate things and at the very least is for some educators, health workers, nurses or doctors to explain the difference between abortion and contraception from a medical point of view and let the women decide.
The religious freaks in Manila will probably burn me at the stake if they learn that I don’t fail to tell my children (especially the oldest who’s a boy) not to forget that in their physical relationships with the opposite sex, accidents can be prevented, that life threatening viruses can be avoided, etc by using condom.
I’m not encouraging my kids to have physical relationship with their partners (my kiddies are teenagers save for the oldest who is over 18) but it is my belief that you never know what kiddies do nowadays with their “friends” and I am a believer that forewarned is forearmed… It is the duty of the parents to talk to children about things that we would like to shy away from — if we truly love them.
hi anna ;) indeed sex education pa rin ang sagot sa religious freaks. but no, no one in the mass media is bothering to just keep explaining the difference between contraception and abortion. i truly worry about the effect of such a campaign on the masses of uneducated uninformed pinoys.

Kasi naman ipinagbabawal niya na bigyan ng pagkakataong mamili ang mga may-bahay kung paano nila paplanuhin ang kanilang pamilya ayon sa kanilang kakayahan. Dahil sa pangingialam ni Ate Glo at sa kagustuhan nya maging mabango sa simbahan, ayan madami tuloy siyang anak…at sya lahat ang nagaalaga. As if naman aalagaan ng simbahan yung mga batang hindi na kayang alagaan ng mga ina nila. Kaya ayun, may mababalitaan nalang tayong batang hinahagis sa labas ng taxi…finuflush sa toilet…at tinatapon sa basurahan.
