  1. One of the Christian values is this: When somebody whack your face, turn the other cheek for another whacking.

Israel and its people it seems is not a Christian nation. When its enemies attacked and threatened their very existence, the Israelis refused to turn the other cheek, instead they fight with all their might.

Its easy for non-Israelis to say “boycott Israel” for fighting back with all their might for survival. Because their existence is not being threatened.

Israel is not a Christian nation. It’s religion is based on the Old Testament, remember? So expecting to behave like Christians is like expecting Muslims to behave like Christians. :-)

  2. NAOMI WOLF: I mourn genocide in Gaza because I am the granddaughter of a family half wiped out in a holocaust and I know genocide when I see it. People are asking why I am taking this ‘side’. There are no sides. I mourn all victims. But every law of war and international law is being broken in the targeting of civilians in Gaza. I stand with the people of Gaza exactly because things might have turned out differently if more people had stood with the Jews in Germany. I stand with the people of Gaza because no one stood with us. I went to synagogue last Friday night and had to leave because I kept waiting for the massacre of Gaza to be addressed. ..nothing. where is god? God is only ever where we stand with our neighbor in trouble and against injustice. I turn in my card of faith as of now because of our overwhelming silence as Jews…I don’t mean Israelis, a separate issue…about the genocide now in Gaza.. I want no other religion than this, that is, seeing rather than denying my neighbor under fire and embracing rather than dismissing those targeted with annihilation and ethnic cleansing.

  3. “But every law of war and international law is being broken in the targeting of civilians in Gaza.”—NAOMI WOLF

The bias is showing. The targeting of civilian is being intentionally perpetuated by the Palestinian fighters on the population in Israel. Can it be said that the Israelis are targeting Gaza civilians intentionally? Doubtful.

My take on what’s happening there between Israel and Gaza is that it is not a war between nations. My view is that one side is trying to annihilate a people, threatening to destroy them out of existence, while the other side is defending itself in order to live peaceful lives. I could be wrong.

Not commenting on the larger issue of Israel-Palestine but only on this latest flare-up characterized by rocket exchanges.

I do not understand why Hamas keeps firing rockets that it knows will not penetrate Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense shield.

Second, the fact that Israel can intercept those rockets from Hamas means Israel can also track where they were fired from. So now my question is why keep firing rockets you know will be intercepted and you know can be tracked,?

Unless Hamas believes Israel does not live by the Old Testament rule “an eye for eye” and won’t shoot back at those specific places where their rockets came from…

it’s like what comedian Bill Maher tweeted “Dealing w/ Hamas is like dealing w/ a crazy woman who’s trying to kill u – u can only hold her wrists so long before you have to slap her”.

Note: I’m not taking sides in the larger conflict which can be traced back all the way to Moses or someone like that. I’m just commenting on the present Hamas tactic of firing rockets they know will not hit Israel and only invites retaliation

  5. WALDEN BELLO: “As of the evening of July 22, 609 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s invasion of Gaza, including 100 children. On the defensive for its massacre of defenceless people, Israel promotes the absurd and baseless claim that Hamas is using children as human shields. Netanyahu is a worthy student of the Nazi Goebbels in promoting the Big Lie. The world calls on Israel to stop the killing and withdraw from Gaza, and on the US to stop providing the arms that allows Israel to carry out its murderous campaign.” https://www.facebook.com/walden.bello/posts/10152339512379332?fref=nf

My personal view on Israel-Palestinian conflict will only be resolve on the following premises:

    1) The USA govt (not the citizens) in cohorts with Zionist lobbyist to stop military assistance and support to IDF.
    2) For the Palestinian Arabs (Muslim) sector and the Zionist Jews in Israel to recognize the mutual existence of an independent state and respect their historical right to the city of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of both their religion.

The Israel govt cannot accept the existence of a separate Palestinian state (which is supported by Arab and Muslim countries) for political security while the Palestinian cannot relinquish their religious ties and territorial rights to one of their most holy mosques,i.e. Aqsa Mosque in the Holy city of Jerusalem.
