please understand that we have given everything required to prove that hubert was in the U.S. when the crime occurred.You name it, we gave it.
1. record of departure including ticket, ticket receipt,(with accompanying testimony from raja tours owner Bibay Nolasco), airline manifest (with accompanying testimony from a northwest airline official), passport with departure stamp from the Bureau of Immigration
2. record of entry which includes an F.B.I. report, a note verbale issued by the U.S. government signed by Secretary of State Madeline Albright stating that Hubert Webb was in the U.S. testified to by no less than both foreign secretary Domingo Siazon and Consul General Leo Herrera Lim
3. records of his stay which includes: Videos – one in Disneyland (testified to by a complete stranger who saw Freddie Webb and decided to video him), one at Lake Tahoe and another at a cousins wedding ceremony. Records of employment in the form of several encashed checks in his name Hubert Jeffrrey Webb before and after the crime California Drivers License aquired during his stay, certified by the Department of Motor Vehicles California. Dozens of eyewitness accounts all of which were excecuted by upstanding members of society all of whom have much to lose had they perjured themselves in court, the most prominent of all being Entertainer Gary Valenciano. Supreme court justice Antonio Carpio also testified that he knew that Hubert was in the U.S, based on his conversations with my father who was in the U.S. right before the time of the incident.
4. records of his departure which includes again the certification from the U.S. stating his date of departure, airline manifest testified to by an authority from the Philippine Airlines, Passport showing entry into the Philippines. We have given everything humanly possible to prove he was in the United States four months before and fifteen months after the massacre occured. He only has one record of ever going to the U.S.A and it was only during the period we claim he was there.
Pease take note that: NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE WE PRESENTED WAS EVER REFUTED OR PROVEN TO BE FALSE BY THE PROSECUTION. THEY COULD HAVE VERY EASILY ASKED THE UNITED STATES IF THE DOCUMENTS WE PRESENTED WERE FAKE BUT THEY DIDN’T. WHY? BECAUSE THEY KNEW OUR DOCUMENTS WERE REAL. THEY COULD HAVE EASILY (ABSOLVED) HUBERT IF THEY ALLOWED DNA TESTING FROM THE BEGINNING BUT THEY OBJECTED TO IT. WHY? BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT IT WASN’T HUBERT’S SPERM BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT HE WAS IN THE UNITED STATES.
We have waited fifteen long years for some people to start believing. Due to a judge and prosecution without any conscience, my brother has suffered much for a crime he very clearly did not do. All we pray is that he be set free so that he can pick up the pieces and start to live what he has left of his life. Let truth prevail.

to the Webb family : I wish you well on your efforts for the freedom of Hubert Webb. I, too, give weight to the USA State Department and Justice Carpio statements that Hubert Webb was in the United States when the crimes were committed.
no offense meant on this comment but I disagree that Hubert Webb should go free. If the Defense’s proof were that strong then, Hubert should have been freed a long time ago. If he gets away with this, it’s only because HIS FAMILY IS RICH AND INFLUENTIAL.

i hope you could take time reading the facts of the case. (available online, usually). you can see from there that the judge had a very clear bias against the accused and she did not accept almost all evidences presented by the defense.

on the contrary, i think the reason he’s not being freed is because the justice system is afraid to think that he’s just being let go because he has a rich and influential family. if anyone should be in jail, it should be those damn ampatuans.
In case Mr. Fritz Webb has forgotten, Carmela Vizconde was raped by more than one man. Just because there is absence of sperm, it does not necessarily mean that the guy did not rape the victim. He might’ve used a condom or there was no ejaculation.
Besides, it wasn’t only Jessica Alfaro who testified during the trial. Other people, including the maids at the Webb household and security guards at BF Homes said that Hubert was still in the country when the crime took place.
Documents can be forged anywhere in the world. US security pre-9/11 wasn’t strict. Friends and relatives would naturally want to protect him. I would rather that they presented an unbiased fellow passenger of that US bound flight he supposedly boarded along with his aunt as an alibi.

Should Gary V. and Justice Carpio go to jail for lying for Freddie Webb? Would you rather take the word of a self confessed NBI asset over the word of GARY VALENCIANO OR JUSTICE CARPIO?
Documents can be forged anywhere in the world that is true but it’s also easy to prove by asking the USA government it’s authenticity. The prosecution was not interested in the truth. It makes me sad to know that there are so many people who have zero conscience and would willingly exchange their souls just to get ahead.
I pray that you never have to experience what we’re going through.
Could it be that hubert was in fact really in USA and it was another brother of his who actually committed the crime?

i am not saying that hubert is innocent… pero mas mabigat naman sigurong magsalita na guilty sya… it’s very clear… evidences presented by the defense were ignored… because they relied more on the statements of some people, na pwedeng nabayaran lang din, tinakot or me malicious intent… think about it. a semen was found in carmela’s remains… this being evidence, should have been kept in a safe place… who’s semen was it??? i guess we;ll never know, right?

I say “you’re wrong. US govt has been very strict and efficient ever since. Documentations/paperworks-wise, in/out of the country, same procedures. They became stricter though and added more security measures in airport to scan people for suspicious terrorism-related plans…”
pls. research and get your facts straight.
I say INNOCENT till proven guilty. So what if you have doubts the documents are authentic? You have to refute and give proof that it isn’t first before you condemn a person guilty. In his case, the court ruled that it MIGHT not be authentic..without proving it first.
@Anna,To the eyes of Judge Tolentino it wasn’t necessary to put more weight on the authenticity of H. Webb’s documents since the incriminating testimonies of the star witness, the two maids,security guards etc. is more than enough to convict the accused. One mind boggling question is. If H. Webb was not involved in that grizzly crime why the heck policeman Beong destroyed the evidences as if to protect the perpetrators. And it’s no secret who he is working with. Granted that H. Webb and company are innocent. Why the hell two of them are still fugitive up to this time. One thing is for sure nobody can hide and run from the justice of the Supreme Being. Amen.
I hear that Hubert is not the real suspect, that his older brother Frits was the real culprit and Tony Boy Lejano and the others are the barkadas of Fritz…during the investigation it was the Webbs who brought out the name of Hubert and put him on the line bec. he has an alibi of being in the States, they were confident he will get an acquittal – that’s why government prosecutors took that bait and targeted Hubert instead of Fritz, but the strategy backfired on them and now Hubert is serving a life sentence supposedly meant for older brother Fritz.
@tom :-D=Your theory seems plausible. thats the same rumor/chimiss I heard regarding the switching of the real person who committed the crime. That’ why, the court could not dismissed the Eyewitness testimonies of the primary witness,the maids, the security guards and the participation of the police agent to destroy material evidences. While the alibi can be documented, the real motive of a collective group of youthful drug addicts cannot evade identity much more its leader.
DNA testing could have proven if the sperm from the vaginal swabs taken from Carmela Vizconde were from Hubert Webb or from the others who were convicted. Even if Hubert Webb, or the others wore condoms, the sperm specimen found should be from at least one of the convicted or even from the 2 fugitives who were identifed by Jessica Alfaro in her testimony. For the 2 fugitives, DNA could be matched through specimens taken from their blood relatives (father, mother, etc.).
If the DNA sample could not be matched to Hubert Webb or any one of the convicts (and fugitives), then the testimony of Jessica Alfaro could then be thrown out with scientific basis. We now would never know the truth since the NBI could not produce the specimens…
SC acquits Hubert Webb, 6 others in Vizconde massacre
UPDATED 1:15 p.m. – Hubert Webb, the son of a former senator, and six other persons were acquitted in the Vizconde massacre case on Tuesday. The Supreme Court (SC) reversed two lower courts’ findings that found him and eight others guilty of killing three members of the Vizconde family almost two decades ago.
According to SC spokesman Jose Midas Marquez, the court acquitted the seven “for the failure of the prosecution to rule their guilt beyond reasonable doubt,” said Marquez.

@ with regards to DNA testing. i read na kahit multiple and donor ng semen. Pwede mo maisolate ang DNA profile ng bawat isa. So kahit 2 or 3 and nagrape pwede mo pa rin ma identify sila.
If Hubert is not guilty ..Why Biong the police officer his friend destroyed all the evidence, the NBI can’t find all the evidence so what are you telling me people ..my goodness it’s a miracle that all evidence dissapear… so aquitt you can’t find the evidence…Webb and company we were’nt born yesterday when science is so young..technology is already out there…anyone can be bought including Ninoy…
